A connection between Kansas Library Express (KLE) and Trans-Amigos Express (TAE) began operation February 10, 2014. Four days a week, this connection links more than 230 Trans-Amigos Express (TAE) libraries with all members of Kansas Library Express. A group has been setup in the OCLC ILL Policies directory that lists all KLE and TAE OCLC participants in the service. The code for this group is TAKE.
Kansas libraries will use the TAE Label Maker to ship materials to Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas locations. The TAE libraries will use their TAE Label Maker to ship items to KLE libraries. Links to TAE participants, TAE Label Maker instructions, and TAE Label Maker link appear below.
Key points for KLE participants:
- KLE participants can have only one shared login/user account per library location.
- The search barcode and statistics reporting features will not be used by KLE participants.
- A label cannot be updated once it has been printed — a new label must be created.
- The QR code on the label is only used by TAE delivery drivers, not KLE delivery drivers.
- Contact TAE@amigos.org for help with the TAE Label Maker.
View TAE Label Maker instructions prior to visiting the TAE Label Maker link for guidelines on how to sign up/request a user account and how to use the Label Maker.

Below is an example of what the label will look like:

Both services use zippered bags to ship materials and may use either a KLE or TAE shipping bag. Please refer to the TAE labeling and packing guidelines if there are any questions on packaging items being sent into the TAE region.
